Vasemmisto-opiskelijat (Vasop), Keskustan Opiskelijaliitto (KOL), Keskustanuoret, Kokoomuksen Nuorten Liitto (KNL), Kokoomuksen Opiskelijaliitto Tuhatkunta, Liberala studerande LSK, Sosialidemokraattiset Nuoret, Vasemmistonuoret sekä Vihreiden nuorten ja opiskelijoiden liitto ViNO antavat täyden tukensa boikotille, joka on suunnattu MV-vihajulkaisussa ja Uberuutisissa mainostavia yrityksiä vastaan. MV-lehden sisältö on journalismin periaatteille sokea ja ruokkii ennakkoluuloja, vihaa ja pelkoa suomalaisessa yhteiskunnassa. Julkaisujen tavoitteena on selvästi rahastaa vetoamalla ihmisten ennakkoluuloihin ja hyödyntää itse luotujen skandaalien varjolla noussutta kävijämäärää mainostilan myymiseksi. Me allekirjoittaneet vetoamme niihin yrityksiin, jotka ovat hankkineet mainostilaa MV-lehden ja Uberuutisten sivuilta ja siten rahoittavat näiden toimintaa: lopettakaa vihapuhetta ja toistuvia valheita levittävien verkkojulkaisuiden tukeminen ja kantakaa yhteiskunnallinen vastuunne.
“Nämä julkaisut lietsovat vihaa vähemmistöjä, pakolaisia ja yhteiskunnan vähäosaisia kohtaan. Tekstien avulla haetaan oikeutusta avoimelle vihapuheelle ja samalla kerätään rahoitusta toimintaan käyttämällä liioiteltuja tai keksittyjä mukauutisia. Vaikka valheellisten uutisten levittäminen ei ole laitonta, sen tukemiselle ei ole perusteita, ellei yritys samalla hyväksy sivustojen tuottamaa vihapuhetta!” järjestöjen puheenjohtajat perustelevat boikotin tarpeellisuutta.
Kannanoton allekirjoittaneet järjestöt ovat ilolla seuranneet mainostajien vetäytymistä ja kannustavat nyt vielä jäljelle jääneitä liittymään joukkoon. Verkkojulkaisuilla ei ole sitovaa velvoitetta varmistaa sisältönsä todenmukaisuutta, mutta mainostilaa hankkivalle yritykselle ei ole eduksi näyttäytyä toistuvien valheiden tukijana.

Political Student and Youth Organizations: Enough already! Making profits through lies must end!
We, the Left Students of Finland, the Centrestudents of Finland, Federation of Green Youth and Students, the Finnish Centre Youth, the Left Youth of Finland, Liberal Students LSK, Social Democratic Youth, the Student Union of National Coalition Party, and Youth League of the National Coalition Party, want to offer our full support to the boycott against companies that purchase advertisement space from MV-lehti and Uberuutiset. MV-lehti’s pseudojournalism fosters fear, embitterment and prejudice in the Finnish society. These websites are filled with content that is masked to portray as an alternative mediasource although it has been shown time and again that their news updates are clearly distorted and often plain fictitious. Clearly the purpose of these websites is to gather followers by spreading outlandish claims and use this self-incited interest to make a profit through selling advertisements. We, the undersigned associations, hereby appeal to all remaining corporations that continue to advertise in MV-lehti and Uberuutiset websites: withdraw your advertisements to show that you do not support these prejudiced and distorted mediasources.
”These publications agitate hatred towards minorities, refugees and other underpriviledged people in our society. They serve both to justify growing hate speech in the society and to further finance their distorted news. Even though spreading fake news is not strictly against the law, the corporations financing these websites should take a stand unless they will be seen to support their hate-seething message.” the chairpersons of undersigned associations argue.
